You will be able to check out my new series of mono prints in April at the Cathedral Coffee shop in collaboration with Green Door Printmaking studio. So where did the name come from? Well it comes from the process I have used – mono printing. But in the case of these works I have printed on both sides of the chinese paper, and the colour shines though, hence the Duo, becasue they are kind of Duo prints.

New Double Sided Mono Prints for New Exhibition
I have a new exhibition coming up in April 2011 at the Cathedral Coffee Shop in Derby, in association with Green Door Print Making Studio, which will showcase my new series of mono prints. The series of works will be an extension of The Visitors series, but in the medium of mono prints. I have developed a way of creating mono prints on special Japanese paper. This paper is both very strong but also translucent, enabling me to print on both sides. This creates a unique look and feel to the prints with colour shining through the paper. Here are some of the initial prints; I will be working on more over the coming weeks. The exhibition will feature 6 of the prints which I will choose nearer the exhibition. If you have any opinions on your fave’s please let me know. Check more out on my Flickr here http://www.flickr.com/photos/martinhyde/sets/72157625436012471/
