May’s Moody Misters who Sometimes Rock

I thought it would be fun to add music mixes each month, to hear the kind of music which influences me in my work. This months mix is called Mays Moody Misters who Sometimes Rock, featuring the likes of Radiohead, NIN, Arcade Fire. Hope you like it.

Multiple Japanese paper types test prints

Well I am about to start work on a new project and need some more Japanese paper. Laurences do a really nice sampler with about 20 or so different Japanese papers. To see how they worked with print, I created these little fun pieces. They are all pretty small, about A7. Some lovely papers.

Viscosity Printing – Dust to Dust

Here are some more mono print exploring viscosity techniques. The technique allows the artist to build up various layers of colour on the plate without them mixing with one another.  This is part of a new series I am working on which is very personal to me.

Experimenting with new mono printing techniques

Here are a selection of new mono prints I have been working on. I have been experimenting with new techniques using colour at Greendoor print making. All are printed on Japanese paper.

Mono Bot Duo Bot

You will be able to check out my new series of mono prints in April at the Cathedral Coffee shop in collaboration with Green Door Printmaking studio. So where did the name come from? Well it comes from the process I have used – mono printing. But in the case of these works I have printed on both sides of the chinese paper, and the colour shines though, hence the Duo, becasue they are kind of Duo prints.
